10 reasons why your resume is not selected for interviews

1. Does not stand out from others. If your resume looks exactly like the one of dozens of other candidates, chances are that it will be forgotten. Make sure you have at least one badge that makes it stand out from the rest.

2. It only describes tasks and skills but no achievement. In a job market plagued by candidates, a curriculum that describes only a number of responsibilities will not attract attention. Be sure to state and describe in detail the achievements you have had in previous jobs.

3. It has paragraphs too long. Recruiters have limited time to devote to each resume so you should not write paragraphs too long and confusing.

4. Focus only on your studies. 
The work experience is what matters most when calling a candidate for a second instance of selection. While your studies are important, work experience should figure first.

5. Does not include precise dates. 
It is vital that you specify the dates during which you performed each job.

6. You have too many details about your previous employer. 
Remember that your resume should focus exclusively on you.

7. It is not specific. It is not enough to say that you have improved the performance of a department. Describe your accomplishments accurately.

8. Includes all your work history and not just the highlights. 
Excludes all types of work experience that have nothing to do with the position to which you are applying.

9. Includes irrelevant details. Nobody cares about your age or the names of your relatives.


10. It describes you in subjective terms. Your resume serves to describe only your experiences and achievements. It is not a place for you to describe yourself subjectively as an "applied worker" or a "creative innovator." Remember that recruiters are looking for specific facts.
